Linking Models and Experiments, Volume 2

In PTW model, control parameters that define the three-dimensional validation domain are the strain (İ), temperature (T) and strain rate (dİ/dt). Symbols ıS and ıY denote the dimensionless work hardening saturation stress and yield stress, respectively. The seven symbols ș, ț, Ȗ, s0, s’, y0 and y’ are dimensionless, calibration variables that depend on the material analyzed. 5.1 PTW Model for Tantalum Metal The six experimentally obtained strain-stress curves of the Tantalum material, each referred to as a dataset, are depicted in Figure 2. These datasets are conducted at varying control parameter settings indicated in Table 1. Each of these six datasets is subjected to a constant temperature and strain-rate, while strain is varied from zero to their maximum value yielding a stress-strain curve. Figure 2: Experiments conducted at varying settings of temperature and strain rate. Table 1: Settings of temperature and strain rate for the available experiments.
